Next Month Pigg’s Peak Online Casino Will Cease Its Operation
According to information provided by one of Pigg’s Peak Online Casino's employees, Pigg’s Peak will no longer be in operation next month. The closing of the company will cause more than 50 jobs to be lost.
The online casino’s future closure comes after the South African National Gambling Board won the court case against Pigg’s Peak Online Gambling Brand of Casino, which resulted in banning South African players from being allowed to gamble on their internet casino sites. The court case had been in litigation for well past a year but finally came to an end with Pigg’s Peak on the losing side.
While not all of Pigg’s Peak Online Casino patrons are prohibited from enjoying the services and entertainment offered by the site, as Namibia and Swaziland players are still free to play and wager on games, the company may still be forced to fold due to the fact that most of its customers (approximately more than 90%) were South African residents. That said, the online casino does intend to remain in full operation until at least the end of November.
After losing its final appeal, Pigg’s Peak was forced to tell all of their players from South Africa to immediately arrange for withdrawals to be made from their accounts that would have to be closed. Now that the new South African online gambling law has been passed, anyone who is caught in violation of it – operators and players alike - will be prosecuted.
